I just love Adele. Watching this interview on the Today Show definitely was a bright spot in today’s morning routine.
As 2011 comes to a close I wanted to make a few compilations of my favorite things from the year. I’m a huge iTunes addict so it’s only natural that first up is my favorite albums of the year.
In order…
1. 21, Adele. The clear winner. This is hands down probably my favorite album ever. Going to see her in concert in Las Vegas back in August was an amazing experience. I think everyone should get a chance to see her sing live. She is truly an inspiration.
2. Ceremonials, Florence + The Machine. I think Florence Welch has to be one of the coolest people ever. I love her unique voice and this album is full of interesting sounds and powerful lyrics. I think it’s far and away better than Lungs.
3. Bon Iver, Bon Iver. I would love to see Bon Iver live as I have heard he is amazing. His songs are soothing and this album is something that I often find myself listening to in it’s entirety while working at my desk.
4. Mylo Xyloto, Coldplay. I love this album’s unique sound. My favorite track is Princess of China with Rhianna. Before this one my favorite Coldplay album was X & Y. It reminds me of studying for finals sophomore year of college. I think I probably listened to it on repeat 25 times that week.
So there are my music picks for 2011. What were your favorites?
love this. glee + adele
One of my all-time favorite songs. Adele played this cover when we saw her in Las Vegas and it was amazing.
i’ll be the first to admit that I have a slight/mild/severe obsession with Adele. I am completely obsessed with this video that I found (and then shared with my bestie friend AMH) of her performing Someone Like You in her home. It’s one part amazing singing and another part a tour of her home. Which I am in love with. All of those books. I die. But the one piece I can’t seem to stop thinking about is that french, ornate headboard in her bedroom. Does anyone know where you can find such a thing? Consider it filed under “dream headboard” inside the file: “decor for my next dream home”
This is happening on Saturday night in Las Vegas. I am literally counting down the minutes.
